Frankie & Benny’s
In 2014 Frankie & Benny’s raised over £275,000 for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research. In July of that year, several members of the senior management team, took part in a 500km London-to-Paris bike ride for the charity.
Frankie & Benny’s charity for 2015 was Rays of Sunshine. We exceeded our £250,000 pledge and raised £344,344 through restaurant fundraising and events. The Frankie & Benny’s Rays of Sunshine concert took place in June 2015 at The Royal Albert Hall. This was a fantastic event which really showcased the wonderful work that Rays of Sunshine do. Rays of Sunshine continue to be Frankie & Benny's charity partner for 2016.
In 2015 Frankie & Benny’s partnered with The Woodland Trust. Through their support the trust can plant 1,000s of extra trees and boost the UK woodland coverage. Members of Frankie & Benny’s management and CSR team attended a day at Heartwood Forest near St Albans planting trees with the charity.
In 2014 Chiquito raised over £12,700 for the British Heart Foundation. In 2015 we set ourselves the target of £15,000 for Millie’s Trust. Millie's Trust was created by the parents of Millie Thompson who tragically passed away in a choking incident in October 2012. Their aim is to make sure first aid training is accessible to everyone.
For 2016 Chiquito were proud to announce that they are supporting the charity Children with Cancer UK with a target of £50,000. Children with Cancer UK is the leading national children’s charity dedicated to the fight against childhood cancer. Almost 4000 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer every year in the UK.
Coast to Coast and Filling Station
Coast to Coast and Filling Station’s charity for 2015 was Global’s Make Some Noise. We committed to raise £50,000 through organised fundraising events, with the first Charity Breakfast event in March raising over £3,000.
Filling Station has been involved in fundraising for the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS). The Group as a whole is extremely proud to have donated over £400,000 to CHAS since fundraising began in 2010.
School Club Zambia was founded in 2011 to help support community schools become financially self-sufficient, up-scale vocational education and improve employment potential in the community.
We support School Club Zambia by raising much needed funds for them through office tombolas & events, however the majority of the money that we donate comes from the sales of selected dishes in Bridge Bars and Beardmore where we donate a proportion of the sale to the charity. We have raised over £16k doing this since December 2014.
Manchester Enterprise Academy is a school on Wythenshawe Council Estate in Manchester, one of their main sponsors are Manchester Airport. TRG Concessions have been working with the school since 2013 to create curriculum visits which give students the opportunity to go to our restaurants and order off the menu, try different foods, design smoothies and make their own pizzas – to name but a few of the activities. We also hold CV workshops for the Year 10’s and attended their Career Fairs as well as a number of events linked with food related calendar dates.
The Prince's Trust is a youth charity that supports 13 to 30 year olds who are unemployed and those struggling at school and at risk of exclusion. TRG Concessions support The Prince’s Trust programme by taking in 18-30 year olds to work within Est Bar at Luton Airport and give them an insight into working life for 2 weeks. We have recently gone on to employ one of the young people in Est Bar as a permanent team member.
The Concessions team have raised over £10,500 for The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association and sponsored 17 Guide Dogs through various fundraising activities and sponsored events. Recently we raised £7,500 during Guide Dog week and the amount keeps growing. We are now on our way to Naming a Puppy.
Frankie & Benny's sponsors local junior sports teams across the UK. Sponsorship takes the form of funding for sports kit, team livery, programmes and other equipment. Our restaurants regularly host events for the teams and their families and supporters. This initiative forms a core part of the Frankie & Benny's community engagement strategy.
As part of this strategy we also engage with local schools, hosting educational workshops in our restaurants where pupils learn about Frankie & Benny's and see what work we do first hand.
